After loading up some fine music from the Great White North recently, I decided to perform a hat trick and add this compilation which was released as a single CD in Canada in 2006, but as an elaborate 2CD set here in Asia. Of course, I am referring to the band, 'April Wine', and the CD, 'Rocks!' (subtitled in Asia as 'Wanna Rock? - The Best Of...'). If YOU don't know much about 'April Wine' then YOU are in for a treat, because all of their Hits, great songs and the entire mythos surrounding the band can be found on this superbly compiled collection. Yes, Hits like 'Just Between You & Me' or 'You Could Have Been A Lady' are here, but many of the magnificent Rockers the band have compiled over the years are also here on offer. No, not just 'Roller' and 'I Like To Rock', but rough and ready songs like 'Crash & Burn' and 'Open Soul Surgery' can be heard, as well. So, get your mitts on this one, and like Myles Goodwyn sings, 'Keep On Rockin''! - Rick Wilson, former Rock Radio Journalist with Radio Canale Grandé.
